Hyundai has just announced that they are extending the warranties on all Hyundai hybrid lithium polymer batteries to cover the entire life of the vehicle, a first in the automotive industry.
Hyundai began incorporating their Blue Link technology last year and have thus far featured it in both the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid as well as a Blue Link version of the 2012 North American Car of the Year, the Hyundai Elantra. Lithium polymer batteries are among the most reliable and efficient electric batteries made today and Hyundai is among the first of the automakers to use the lithium polymer power pack technology in their vehicles.
This announcement from Hyundai brings on a sense of confidence when buying a Hybrid vehicle from Hyundai. While we haven't had Hybrid cars around long enough or in high quantities to really understand how they work, their life expectancy and their reliability. Hyundai's new free extended warranty on the Hybrid batteries give consumers a confidence boost when buying a Hyundai Hybrid, knowing that they will never have to pay thousands of dollars years down the road to replace their faulty battery.
