Hyundai Sonata Named "All Star"

Hyundai Builds World's Safest Cars

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has chosen, out of  66 vehicles, their top safety picks for 2011. Hyundai was at the head of this list.

Hyundai Bringing Plug-in EV Soon?

Hyundai CEO John Krafcik proclaimed the car company would shoot for a 50-mile-per-gallon fleet average by 2025. The automaker will focus on launching additional hybrids, introducing the BlueOn electric vehicle and eventually debuting a plug-in hybrid.

Hyundai Betting on New Elantra

The Hyundai Sonata has already seen sales reach almost 200,000 this year. It's up 65% for the year, according to statistic source Autodata. Hyundai thinks their Elantra compact could see similar growth.

The new Elantra contains a 148-horsepower engine and six-speed manual and automatic transmissions, which achieve 40 miles per gallon in highway driving, 17% over the previous model. Its new look offers some of the greatest aerodynamics in the segment.

These days, everyone's on Twitter - including Hyundai. The Korean auto maker released a staged "spy photo" via TwitPic, Twitter's photo application, of its upcoming 2011 Elantra. It's part of a teaser campaign for the compact's reveal at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The photo consists of an undisguised 2011 Elantra spotted on the streets of San Francisco.

2011 Hyundai Elantra Pricing

The 2011 Hyundai Elantra is coming to dealerships soon - it's 40 miles per gallon rating will attract much attention when it debuts at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Even before the car was introduced, we learned pricing for this Korean best-selling automobile.

The basic GLS Standard trim starts this lineup with a base MSRP at $14,830, not including a $720 destination charge. The lineup for Elantra then tops out with the Premium at $21,980.
